Whitney Oaks is a tranquil master-planned community located in Rocklin, California about
25 miles northeast of Sacramento. The community is close to commercial businesses,
neighborhood shopping, restaurants, and major roadways. And, the region’s Westfield
Galleria Roseville is just minutes away.
Whitney Oaks consists of about 5,000 residents and 1,877 homes. Home styles vary
among the several gated villages, offering properties to suit everyone’s needs. Homes are
situated among the rolling hills and groves of oak trees that characterize the region. It was
this natural beauty together with agricultural opportunities that inspired a famous Placer
County resident, Joel Parker Whitney, to give up his search for gold and become a
rancher instead.
The Whitney Oaks Golf Club anchors the community, which features a 6,800-yard
privately owned course designed by Johnny Miller that combines a challenging layout with
the natural beauty of the Sierra-Nevada foothills. In addition to the golf course, there are
many recreational opportunities within the community. These include recreation centers,
parks and hiking trails within the community. And, nearby State Park recreational
opportunities are available at the Auburn and Folsom Lake State Recreation Areas. State
Park quality interpretive experiences can be found in nearby Sacramento at the Old
Sacramento, Leland Stanford and Sutter’s Fort State Historic Parks, the California State
Railroad Museum, and the California State Capitol Museum,
Today, appreciation for the surrounding natural environment is an important part of
Whitney Oaks, which is home to a variety of wildlife. It is not uncommon to see wild
turkeys, hawks, pheasants, geese, deer, fox, and coyotes wandering the community’s
open space, with beaver dams in the myriad creeks throughout the area.
The Whitney Oaks Community Association is governed by an elected five member Board
of Directors from the community. Kocal Management Group, Inc. manages the
association.
